The Hotel Apoksiomen is located directly on the harbour promenade of Mali Lošinj, surrounded by picturesque houses and churches. The boutique hotel, renovated in 2004, combines traditional and trendy design and radiates comfort and charm thanks to its lovingly designed interior. In 2005 the Hotel Apoksiomen was listed among the top ten boutique hotels in Europe in the tourism insert of the Sunday Mirror. The name Apoksiomen comes from Apoxyomenos, an ancient bronze statue of a young athlete scraping off oil and dust following a competition. The well-preserved statue was found in 1999 in the sea near Lošinj, not far from the small island of Vela Orjula.
